Fr. Gaston Roberge, S.J., Founder-Director of Chitrabani, receives the award from the President of India for his book Communication Cinema Development at the 46th National Film Festival 1999. The Book Jury made a Special Mention for 1998 of Gaston Roberge for his book which brings a multidisciplinary approach to bear on the subject of film. The President of India gave the awards to more than a dozen for films in all the languages of India. There were two categories of writing on cinema: theoretical writings and film criticism. There were 22 books in the category of film th eory.
